Wild Rivers Ranger District Area Closure Reduced
Areas Near Fire Suppression Activities Remain Closed

CAVE JUNCTION, OR September 25, 2020 – Effective Friday, September 25, 2020, a portion of the Wild Rivers Ranger District has reopened for public entry. Following the recent rains, and the ongoing and successful efforts to suppress the Slater and Devil Fires, the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest is reducing the closure that was put in place on September 10.

Public lands closures remain in effect near the Slater Fire and Devil Fire to reduce interference with emergency crews and allow for fire suppression and burned area recovery. The revised Forest Closure Order is effective September 25, 2020, and replaces the previous closure. It's effective until December 15, 2020, unless sooner rescinded.

Please remain vigilant while out on your public lands, as fire season is not over yet! Despite recent rains, fuel conditions remain very dry and new fire starts are possible. Help us thank firefighters, and protect your community from new, human-caused fires by following the public use restrictions that are still in place. Current fire restrictions, fire danger, and other useful information can be found on the RRSNF's website, and regular updates are also posted on the Facebook and Twitter pages.
