Jackson County, in partnership with local cities and the Medford School District are opening a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) to assist victims of the Almeda and Obenchain Fires. The MARC will be at the old Central Medford High School at 815 S. Oakdale Ave. Visitors to the MARC should park in the lot on Kenyon Street near Spiegelberg Stadium. The MARC will be open seven days a week starting Thursday, Sept. 24 from 8AM - 8PM.

The Phoenix Civic Center, Talent Elementary School and the River House in Shady Cove will have resources for residents as well.

Representatives from FEMA, local insurance agencies, city representatives, and the Red Cross are set up to walk visitors through the fire relief assistance process. Residents affected by the recent wildfires will be connected to resources including cash assistance, support filing insurance claims, access to housing vouchers as well as food and clothing. FEMA will assist with the registration process for FEMA assistance.

“We are thankful for the partnership and cooperation of agencies around the valley in addition to FEMA for coming together to offer these important resources to those affected by the fires,” said County Emergency Operations Center Director John Vial. “We know the process of personal recovery is incredibly overwhelming and we hope the MARC will provide some relief and assistance to folks navigating that process.”

The following items would be helpful for visitors to bring to the MARC IF THEY HAVE THEM; these items are not required to receive help:

  • Identification with home address (example: driver’s license or a utility bill)
  • Social security number
  • If you have private insurance, the name of your provider

If residents have questions about the fire relief process or resources available to them, they can call 211 for help or visit the Jackson County Emergency Management website at www.JacksonCounty.org/emergency
